Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place & District
Memorial Hospital created the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) in 2016
to formalize their commitment to work together to improve each patient and
resident’s overall health care experience through a strong, coordinated system
of care. An integrated Senior Team leads the two Hospitals, as well as Fairview
Manor and Lanark County Paramedic Service which are operating divisions of AGH.
Over 600 caring staff, physicians and midwives provide excellent primary, acute
and long-term care to citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew
County.
The Human
Resources (HR) Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources
Team. Providing excellence in customer service, the HR Assistant applies an
understanding of human resource fundamentals combined with strong
organizational skills, to efficiently and effectively manage a high volume of
work flow processes and documentation being delegated by departmental team
members.

Role
Responsibilities
· Acts
as the first point of contact for the general HR inquiries.
· Assists
with recruitment activities such as posting vacancies, coordinating interviews,
completing reference checks, populating database with successful incumbent and
closing the competition files.
· Prepares
employment letters and new hire onboarding packages.
· Maintains
employee HRIS profiles and develops various reports using the HRIS system and
spreadsheet
databases.
· Coordination of Corporate Orientation and other
training programs as required.
· Assists
with HR events and recognition programs such as long service awards, etc.
· Assists
in drafting and coordinating surveys; collates and analyzes results.
· Works
collaboratively to provide support for special projects as required.
Required
Qualifications and Experience
· Post-secondary
diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent combination
of education and experience in Human Resources and
administration.
· A
minimum of one (1) year related work experience in a unionized organization,
supporting professional office functions and performing similar administrative
duties.
· Strong
computer skills (Microsoft Office) with demonstrated working knowledge of
HRIS/Payroll systems.
· Demonstrated
excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Excellent
time management with proven abilities in planning, priority setting and meeting
deadlines.
