Physiotherapy Department

Area residents recovering from injuries and those who want to maintain their mobility have access to a complete range of physiotherapy services at the Almonte General Hospital-Fairview Manor (AGH-FVM). Our physiotherapists provide preventative and therapeutic services aimed at restoring function and preventing disability arising from disease, trauma and injury. Our volunteers play an integral role in supporting department function.

The AGH-FVM physiotherapy department provides services to outpatients, inpatients on the Medical Surgical Unit, and clients in the AGH Day Hospital program, Rosamond complex continuing care unit and Fairview Manor Nursing Home. The physiotherapy department also contracts services to Orchard View Retirement Home.

Physiotherapy service within the AGH Day Hospital Program focuses on multisystem pathology that crosses musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiorespiratory domains within our frail elderly population neurological conditions such as Parkinsons and head injury, and complex needs following hospitalization, within the general rehabilitation population. Falls prevention is a major focus of Day Hospital.

Our outpatient physiotherapy clinic, AGH Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre, focuses on an array of orthopaedic and sports injury conditions, including sprains, strains, post fracture/post-op rehabilitation, and arthritis related pain/dysfunction. Individual physiotherapist skill sets include vestibular rehabilitation, post-concussion recovery, workplace injuries, manual therapy, acupuncture, dry needling and ADP assessments for walkers. Our post-operative program for elective total hip, knee and shoulder joint replacements is funded through Bundled Care, and we are pleased to be a host site for GLA:D osteoarthritis education and exercise classes.

We offer direct billing for Greenshield and Blue Cross (both private and DVA).
