Progress Update on Carleton Place District Memorial Hospital’s New Emergency Department

September 27, 2024

Carleton Place, ON – The Mississippi River Health Alliance (“MRHA”) is pleased to provide an update on the progress of the new Emergency Department at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (“CPDMH”). The project is approaching completion, with the final steps underway to ensure that the new facility meets the highest standards of safety and care.

Recently, new requirements for the backup power generator system were introduced, necessitating adjustments to ensure full compliance with the latest regulatory standards. While this has required additional work, the management team at CPDMH, along with architects, design engineers, and contractors, are addressing these updates to complete the project as efficiently as possible.

“We understand the community’s anticipation of this vital new facility, and we are committed to ensuring that it meets the exceptional standards of care our patients deserve,” said Brad Harrington, President & CEO of the Mississippi River Health Alliance. “This facility will represent a major enhancement in emergency care, and we’re confident the final outcome will provide lasting benefits for everyone in Carleton Place and the surrounding area.”

MRHA is committed to keeping the community informed as the project moves through these final stages. Continued support and understanding from the community are appreciated as the Hospital works to bring this state-of-the-art facility to fruition. Regular updates will be provided as progress is made toward the official opening.
