You're Invited! MRHA Welcomes Community to the Grand Opening of the Thomas Cavanagh Emergency Department

Carleton Place, ON The Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) is thrilled to invite community members to an exclusive Grand Opening event of the Thomas Cavanagh Emergency Department at Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital (CPDMH) on Monday, January 27, 2025.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the community to tour the brand-new CPDMH Emergency Department before it officially opens for clinical operations in the days following the event.

What: Grand Opening and Community Tours of the Thomas Cavanagh Emergency Department


When: Monday, January 27, 2025

· Community Tours Begin: 1:00 PM

Where: Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital

211 Lake Ave. E, Carleton Place, ON K7C 1J4, Neelin Street Entrance

How to Attend:
To ensure a smooth and organized experience, community members are asked to pre-register for their tour group by scanning the QR code included with this release or by visiting https://www.cpdmhfoundation.ca/healthyfuturestogether and click on one of the tour links.

Please Note:
The new Emergency Department will not be operational for patient care on the day of the grand opening event. Clinical services will begin in the days following the event, and further details will be shared with the public.

The new Emergency Department was made possible through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners who raised over $5 million through the Healthy Futures. Together! Campaign. Designed to meet the needs of today and tomorrow, the facility features state-of-the-art equipment, an optimized layout for efficiency, and an environment that prioritizes patient comfort and staff wellbeing.

“This is more than just a building—it’s a reflection of the heart and strength of this community,” said Robyn Arseneau, Executive Director of the CPDMH Foundation. “The tours provide an exclusive look at how we are building a brighter, healthier future together.”
